After care advice – massage
After your massage treatment your body and mind are in a relaxed state. To ensure maximal benefits from your massage it is recommended that you read and follow the following after care advice.
- Please ensure you drink lots of water, this helps with dehydration, lost fluids and reduces fatigue
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine beverages for at least 12 hours after massage as they have dehydrating properties
- Avoid strenuous activity for the next 12 hours to ensure further relaxation and de stress on your body
- Eat a light meal, many of us indulge in a heavy meal or sweet treats after a massage, however this can quickly eliminate the good feeling from your massage.
Please note Healing reactions may take place after a massage and are completely normal, this shows that the massage is working well and your body is responding to the treatment. These include:
- Your urine may be darker than usual, this is completely fine as its due to the toxins leaving the body.
- Feeling fatigued and tired (due to relaxation)
- Increased sweating, urinating or thirst
Maintaining results
- Take a warm bath once a week – this will help relax and loosen your muscles
- Relax and de stress
- Walk around and stretch – especially if sitting for a long time
